Session 7 Flipped Classrooms

Why use a 'flipped classroom' ...what are the benefits?

This strategy can be introduced gradually....the idea is students learn about the 'content' before the real learning (application). This encourages flexible, and collaborative environments. It also promotes a shift in learning.

Videos can be used to show the content.  Both students and parents can be involved in this process. Students can also be involved in the process. The advantage of using videos is that students can pause and rewind for understanding and analysing.

The downside with this style of learning is that some students may not have access to technology or the appropriate home learning environment.
